William Moon Hostel Special Needs:
William Moon Hostel has some of the worst infrastructural problems of any of the homes we support. Several buildings have been abandoned when the roofs or walls collapsed.
The girls’ dormitory is uninhabitable and at night they must sleep in the administrator’s small bungalow.
The boys’ dorm has large holes in the asbestos roof that leaks water and asbestos particles into the sleeping quarters.
The kitchen building collapsed and cooking operations was moved into a small, unventilated garage. (right) There are many needs at this home. Donate Now. |

Mary Knott Girls’ Hostel and Crawford Boys’ Home Special Needs:
The boys’ dormitory is ancient and should be replaced. Even more dire is the condition of their toilet and bathing area. Several administrative offices have been abandoned until the roof can be repaired. Due to a prolonged drought concrete plaster from the ceilings in these rooms fell in large pieces, endangering the staff. Donate now. |

These three photos show the disgusting toilet the girls had to use. It was nearly a hundred years old. Similarly the open-topped stalls were the girls’ bathing area. Because the stalls were situated against the wall of the compound, men from the village would climb the wall and watch the girls. The charity Wherever the Need, which was formerly affiliated with World’s Children International, sunk a new water well and constructed a new toilet and bathing area for the girls that afforded them privacy and sanitary conditions. (photo below) |

This toilet at Crawford Boys’ Hostel is still in use. In the photo the corner of the boy’s dorm is shown on the left (white building) and the open-topped and crumbling toilet and bathing area on the right. We hope to raise money to improve the boys’ situation. Donate Now. |

Methodist Boarding Home for Boys and Girls Special Needs:
We need to find a solution to the unsanitary water problem. A short-term solution would be to install a village-size water purifier for the drinking water. A longer term solution designed to address both the drinking and bathing needs of the children would be to locate a remote site with adequate water, sink a borewell and run a buried pipeline back to the orphanage compound. |

A year ago the St. Anthony’s Girls’ High School in Munugode, India had 750 students and no toilet. The girls had to use a nearby farmer’s field who would throw rocks at them when they trespassed on his land. A donor in Florida paid for this new toilet for the school. |

The girls at Saint Anthony’s School now have toilets |

Many of the homes funded by WCI have similar infrastructure problems that await a patron saint. |
